The Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association was founded in 1904 to “further the interests of the Scottish Ladies’ Golf Championship and to be responsible for any deficiency in the funds” (extract from the minute of a meeting held in the St Nicholas Ladies Club House on Saturday 14th May 1904). In 2006 the members of the Association voted to incorporate and Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association Limited came into being on 1 October that year. This company and its subsidiary, SLGA (Projects) Ltd, collectively known as the SLGA, is the governing body for ladies’, junior and girls’ amateur golf in Scotland. OBJECTIVES to further the interests of ladies’, junior and girls’amateur golf in Scotland to arrange National Championships and other tournaments to select, train and manage Scottish teams to employ the funds of the company in the best interests of amateur golf in Scotland to administer the CONGU® Unified Handicapping System and the USGA Course Rating System. to uphold the Rules of Golf and the Rules of Amateur Status as laid down by R&A Rules Ltd.

BOARD The management of the Company is vested in the Board of Directors who include – President Chairman Finance Director Two directors from East, North and West Divisions One director from South Division One director nominated by the Board Two LGU Councillors
Reporting to the Board are other committees with remits for Championships, Performance, Management and Handicapping & Course Rating. INTERNATIONALS The SLGA sends teams to compete in the Home International Matches – Ladies, Girls and Seniors – against England, Ireland and Wales; European Team Championships – Ladies, Girls and Seniors; and the World Amateur Team Championships.
